Peace Building With Youth From Five Countries

The Summer Academy for Intercultural Dialogue is a project within the Peace and Dialogue Program of the Wings of Hope Foundation. Every year since 2007, 25 young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kurdistan-Iraq, Palestine and Israel, and from Germany have come together for a two-week exchange program in the Bavarian Alps.

The young women and men aged 18-26 learn from and with each other how to live together in diversity and how to remain in dialogue despite all differences. In interreligious impulses, they look for common ground and practice changing perspectives. In workshops and seminars, they explore the question of how collective traumas shape their identities and societies and how a good culture of remembrance can contribute to reconciliation.

When they return home, they work to promote peace and dialogue in their countries of origin. Since the start of the program, the Summer Academy has reached hundreds of young people who continue to make a difference in their home countries.

Application for the Summer Academy for Intercultural Dialogue

The Summer Academy 2024 took place between August 18 and September 1.

You will find the next call for applications here and on Instagram around February 2025. Applications are open to young adults aged 18-26 who are committed to peace and dialogue and are fluent in English.
