It is still hard to believe: after a brief but serious illness, Imke Mentzendorff passed away on July 24, 2025.
For 17 years, Imke was a vital part of Wings of Hope, leaving a lasting impact on our mission and work. As the head of Fundraising and Communications, she played a key role in shaping the public image of our foundation, building strong relationships with our donors, and working tirelessly behind the scenes to help turn our projects into reality.
Three years ago, we celebrated her retirement with a joyful summer gathering. It is with profound sadness that we now say goodbye far too soon.
Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathy are with her husband Tom, her brothers, and their families during this difficult time.
Connection is the bond that unites us—across time and space, and beyond death. In this spirit, we remain deeply connected to Imke.
We are grateful for her care, her humor, and the clarity she brought to so many moments we shared. Now we entrust her to God’s eternal peace.
We miss you.
